I'm your host, Charlotte Tse, and today we've got a powerful one. We're diving into Juneteenth, the holiday that honors the end of slavery in the United States. A celebration of black freedom, resilience and joy. And what better way to honor that than with an incredible community event happening right here in the heart of Memphis. Juneteenth with Young Realtist. Mark your calendars. Saturday, June 21, 2025 from 1 to 5pm we're pulling up to Wiseacre Brewing Company HQ, 398 South BB King Boulevard for a day of line dancing, good food, family fun and powerful connections. Hosted by the Young Realtors Division, Memphis Chapter, this event brings freedom, culture and commerce together in one vibrant space. Now this isn't just another summer gathering. Nah, this is a movement. A chance to network, to shop local, to support black vendors and to honor our ancestors. All while line dancing and sipping on something cold. For just $25, your ticket gets you one refreshing drink ticket, Full access to a marketplace of local black owned businesses. Line dancing that'll have you steppin and smilin' and family friendly fun for every generation and for our entrepreneurs out there. Listen up. Vendor slots are available for just $100. That gets you a table with two chairs, two drink tickets, and live shoutouts throughout the day to highlight your brand. Spots are limited though, so don't sleep on this opportunity to plug your business into the Memphis community. Now, before we jump back into the festivities, let's break down something important that's in the name itself. Young Realtist. You might be wondering why Realtist and not realtor? That's no typo, that's history. Here's the one truth. Back in 1947, black real estate professionals were denied membership in the national association of Realtors simply because of the color of their skin. That exclusion meant they couldn't access the same tools, networks or respect that white realtors had. So what did our community do? They founded their own organization, the national association of Real Estate Brokers. And with it came a new title, Realtist. That title became a badge of honor, a declaration that black real estate professionals belonged in the industry, even if the doors weren't open to them. The term realtist is rooted in resistance, resilience, and a refusal to be left out of building generational wealth. So when you see the Young Realtist Division Memphis chapter putting on this Juneteenth event, know that it's more than a celebration. It's a continuation of a fight for access, equity and black ownership. It's a reminder that we don't just dream about freedom, we build it. And for the heavy hitters who want to sponsor and support at a deeper level, the Young Realtists are offering silver and gold sponsorships. This isn't just a donation. This is a partnership with perks like spotlighting on their website and social media, mentions in their newsletter, access to events and affiliate memberships, and facetime with the city's rising real estate and business leaders. Whether you're silver 250 or go for the gold 500, you're investing in community equity. Juneteenth isn't just a holiday. It's a legacy. A reminder that freedom was fought for and that joy is a form of resistance. And when we gather like this to support each other, build our networks and lift up local businesses, we honor that legacy. So bring your family, bring your friends, bring your wallet and your dance moves. Let's turn up in unity, in purpose and in Pride. That's Saturday, June 21, 2025, 1 to 5pm at Wiseacre Brewing HQ on BB King Boulevard. Tickets, $25 vendors, $100. Sponsorships, priceless in value.
